FAQ’s

What if the mother’s life is in danger?

In rare medical emergencies, doctors may need to treat both the mother and the baby—but true medical care never directly kills an unborn child. Ethical doctors work to save both lives when possible. Killing the baby is not necessary or ethical, even in emergencies.

What about rape or incest?

These are horrific and painful situations, and the mother deserves deep compassion and care. But even in these tragedies, the baby is still an innocent human life. Abortion doesn’t heal trauma—it adds to it. We should support both the mother and her child with love, not more violence.

What if the baby has a disability or illness?

A child with a disability is still a child—fully human and deserving of love. Ending a life because of suffering is not compassion; true compassion means walking with someone in their suffering, not eliminating the sufferer.

Is abortion ever medically necessary?

No. While complications in pregnancy may require urgent treatment, directly killing the baby is never the only option. Ethical doctors can treat both patients—the mother and her child—with care and respect.

What if someone doesn’t believe in God?

You don’t have to believe in God to understand that life has value. Science shows that a new human life begins at conception, and logic tells us that human rights should apply to all humans. The pro-life position is based on reason as well as faith.

Why do people get so angry about this?

Abortion is a deeply personal and emotional issue. Some people have been hurt by it, and others believe it’s about freedom. But once we understand that abortion ends a human life, it changes everything. That’s why Healing the Culture approaches the topic with clarity, compassion, and respect.
